Chinese Woman Robbed and Injured in Central Tokyo Attack

(MENAFN) A 60-year-old Chinese national was attacked and robbed in a busy commercial district of Tokyo on Wednesday night, with authorities now searching for two suspects who fled the scene.

According to reports, police were alerted at around 8:30 p.m. local time after an emergency call reported the incident. The victim was allegedly assaulted by two men who used what appeared to be a tear gas-like substance before striking her on the back of the head.

The attackers then reportedly stole her bag, which contained cash, before escaping the area.

The incident took place near Ikebukuro Station, one of Tokyo’s major commercial and transportation hubs known for heavy pedestrian traffic.

Local authorities have launched an investigation and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the robbery and assault.
