Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming Attends the Third Kasthamandap Dialogue
On September 12, 2026, the Third Kasthamandap Dialogue, themed “Nepal-China Relations: Expanding Horizons of Cooperation,” started in Kathmandu, Nepal. Hon. Mr. Jhala Nath Khanal, former Prime Minister of Nepal, Hon. Mr. Shisir Khanal, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal, H.E. Mr. Zhang Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, and other distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.

Ambassador Zhang stated that in the face of the devastating mudslides and floods on August 26, China and Nepal have stood together and helped each other through the difficult times. In addressing challenges such as natural disasters, China stands ready to work with Nepal to further strengthen cooperation in disaster prevention and mitigation, post-disaster reconstruction and party to party exchanges, continuously deepen high-level interactions, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and practical cooperation in other fields, and jointly build a Nepal−China community with a shared future.
Former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal and Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal expressed appreciation for China’s valuable assistance to Nepal, stressing that Nepal will continue to firmly uphold the one-China principle, deepen bilateral relations with China based on mutual trust and friendship, expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and jointly address the challenges posed by climate change.
