Ambassador Wu Guangrong paid a courtesy call on Hon. Henry Ariganyira Musasizi, Uganda’s newly appointed Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development

On September 16, Ambassador Wu Guangrong paid a courtesy call on Hon. Henry Musasizi, Uganda’s newly appointed Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. The two sides exchanged views on implementing the important common understandings reached by the two Heads of State and strengthening bilateral investment protection and cooperation.

Ambassador Wu said that investment cooperation is an important component of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Uganda. Over the years, Chinese enterprises have actively participated in the development of Uganda’s oil and gas, power, infrastructure and industrial park sectors, making positive contributions to Uganda’s economic development and the improvement of people’s livelihoods. China stands ready to further enhance development strategy alignment with Uganda, deepen cooperation in financial, economic and trade fields, and support Uganda in implementing its national economic development framework, with a focus on agricultural industrialization, tourism, mining and science and technological innovation, so as to advance Uganda’s industrialization, economic transformation and modernization.

Minister Musasizi expressed appreciation for China’s long-standing support to Uganda. He said that Uganda stands ready to draw on China’s development experience, share China’s development opportunities, create a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises, and work with China to promote greater and more fruitful outcomes in bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
